FAQS

Are Super73 Bikes Street Legal?

SUPER73 sells e-bikes around the world and always makes sure to be compliant with all laws and regulations. Our e-bikes are in line with all applicable UK & EU standards and regulations.
SUPER73 e-bikes are known as ‘electrically assisted pedal cycles’ (EAPCs). You do not need a licence to ride one and it does not need to be registered, taxed or insured.
This means the bike must have a maximum power output of 250 watts and should not be able to propel the bike when it’s travelling more than 15.5mph.

Can I use my Super73 bike in the rain?

All of our bikes are weather resistant to minimal weather conditions. We generally advise against exposure to extreme weather conditions that may cause extra strain on the battery/motor and protect all other electrical components.

Note that the Super73 is not meant for use in puddles, heavy rain, and riding through streams.
Never immerse this product in water as the electrical system will be damaged. Take extra care while riding in wet conditions. Feet or hands can slip in wet conditions and lead to serious injury from a fall. Brake earlier as it will take longer to slow down than when operating in dry conditions. Decrease riding speed. Wear reflective clothing and use approved safety lights. Road hazards are more difficult to see when wet, proceed with caution.

If you leave your bike out in the rain, make sure that the bike is covered and dry before placing your battery on it.

Why Are the SUPER73 Bikes Sold in Europe Priced Differently Than SUPER73 Sold in the USA?

Europe has a different set of rules, certifications, market standards, and regulations that dictate the sale, transportation, and operation of all of our bikes. This, combined with different duties and pricing structures when bringing our bikes to Europe, is the main source of the price differences.

Can I modify my SUPER73 E-bike?

While our riders are free to modify their e-bike and make it their own, certain modifications could be dangerous and could void the warranty

Non-bicycle components such as motorcycle tires and after-market motors, put much more stress on the mechanical and electrical components than they were designed for.

Please keep in mind that any modifications to the electrical system of our e-bikes, such as after-market batteries, motors, throttles, controllers, and headlights will void the warranty as they can affect the performance and the behavior of the bike.
